Cherry juice concentrate is made from whole fresh or frozen Montmorency tart cherries.  Once the juice is extracted from the cherries, it is concentrated into a thick syrup.  There are 55 to 60 fresh tart cherries in 2 tablespoons (about 1 ounce) of cherry juice concentrate.  It's an all-natural product that has no added sugar, coloring or preservatives.  The concentrate can be stored in the refrigerator or freezer.

While there needs to be more research done in the health benefits of cherries and cherry juice, remember that cherry juice concentrate is 100% natural with nothing added. The concentrate can be mixed at the recommended ratio of 8 to 1, 8 parts water to 1 part concentrate, or to your taste.
